Building an award-worthy road takes years of planning, problem-solving and collaboration. Earning national recognition for that work can bring the project—and the people behind it—the attention they deserve.

The Roads & Bridges Top 10 Roads Awards recognizes ten roads from across the country based on their design, utilization of technology, uniqueness, level of improvement over current infrastructure, how the project team overcame obstacles, and collaboration with stakeholders and the surrounding community.

Submissions are open until Sept. 18.

Selected projects are published in the Roads & Bridges November/December issue, with the number one project featured on the cover of the magazine.

We don’t end there. Winning projects are promoted in our newsletter and across our social media platforms. The projects are also regularly included in additional content our editorial team publishes throughout the year. Projects that do not make the list, but are still noteworthy, can also be featured in later content.

Recognition through the Top 10 Roads Awards can keep your project in the spotlight long after construction is complete.

Road projects may not always receive the same attention as bridges, but the innovation, coordination and problem-solving behind them are equally worthy of recognition. If your team has delivered an outstanding road project, now is the time to put it forward.

Projects can be submitted by DOTs, municipalities, contractors engineering firms or project partners if the project has reached completion or the final construction phase within the last 14 months.

All types of road projects are eligible for consideration, including new road construction, rehabilitation, roadway reconstruction, highway or arterial widening, road extensions, bus rapid transit lanes and dedicated bus lanes, interchange construction or reconstruction, and roundabouts.

Submissions must represent projects in their entirety rather than one specific phase or aspect of the work. Strong entries tell the project’s full story, including how it improved the area’s infrastructure, benefited road users and brought project partners together. Entries should also include photos of the completed project and the work in progress.
