Answer: Philadelphia
The first Thanksgiving Day Parade was held in Philadelphia in 1920, preceding its more well-known counterpart in New York City by four years. The parade was started to kick off the holiday shopping season and is now the longest-running Thanskgiving parade in the United States. It is now called the 6ABC Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade and celebrated it's 106th year in 2025.
