Last week's answer

Question: What is the longest continuous bridge over water in the world?

Answer: Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, USA

The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, otherwise known as The U.S. Causeway, runs 24 miles and connects New Orleans and Mandeville in Louisiana.

The bridge was built in two phases. The original two-lane bridge was constructed in 1956, and now serves as The Causeway's southbound lanes. A new bridge constructed in the 1960's supports The Causeway's northbound traffic.
