North Avenue Smart Corridor

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed along with other Georgia officials will celebrate the launch of the North Avenue Smart Corridor Demonstration project today.

The North Avenue Smart Corridor Demonstration project, funded by the Renew Atlanta Infrastructure Bond, leverages multiple “smart” technologies that will convert data into actionable information to transform operations in this important corridor.

The project deploys the latest technology in adaptive signal systems for a safer and more efficient flow of all modes of transportation. The technology also facilitates improved emergency response by prioritizing fire engines and ambulances traveling through the corridor.

The event will take place at the amphitheater located at the North Avenue entrance of Ponce City Market in Atlanta, and will also feature an autonomous vehicle demonstration.
