Question: What is the longest road in the world that you can drive on?

Answer: Pan-American Highway

The Pan-American Highway is a network of highways connecting North America and South America, totaling 19,000 miles of drivable roadway. From start to finish, the entire road system extens from Alaska and Canada down to Chile, Brazil and the southern tip of Argentina.

The highway is nearly continuous except for the 60-mile Darien Gap between Panama and Colombia. The area is home to environmentally-sensitive rainforests and marshlands with a number of Indigenous peoples who have long opposed plans to construct a highway through the area.
