News out of Springfield announced that Ill. Governor Pat Quinn (D) has authorized a $2.2 million resurfacing project in Will County that will see the resurfacing of 2nd Street to U.S. 45 in Manhattan and Wilton Townships. Gallagher Asphalt Corp. of Thornton, Ill. won the job.
This capital investment is the latest in a series of such measures constituting the governor’s Illinois Jobs Now! program, the largest construction infrastructure project in Illinois’ history, which is anticipated to create more than 430,000 jobs over the next six years.
In a statement released through the governor’s transportation press office, Quinn announced, “New infrastructure projects are creating jobs for hardworking men and women throughout Illinois.
