Volvo Construction Equipment has announced its next generation of wheel loaders, introducing five updated models: the L150, L180, L200 High Lift, L220 and L260. Additional models are expected to be updated later.
Among the major enhancements are new load-sensing hydraulics and automatic bucket leveling from both dump and curl positions. An optional Auto Bucket Fill feature automates throttle, lift and tilt, aiming to boost efficiency, according to a report originally published on ConstructionEquipment.com, Roads & Bridges’ sister publication at Endeavor Business Media.
Volvo said its Smart Control fuel-saving engine mode, now activated by default, can reduce fuel consumption by up to 4% without compromising performance.
The loaders are compatible with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), which produces fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional diesel. Each model features a fully Volvo-designed powertrain that synchronizes the transmission, engine and axles.
Updates also include improved torque at low speeds and smoother gear shifting for better overall operation.
Optional safety tech includes Smart View, which offers a 360-degree view, and an upgraded collision mitigation system that alerts operators to hazards even when reversing at low speeds.
Other tools like Connected Map, Task Manager and Performance Indicator help manage tasks and productivity on mixed-fleet job sites.
The new loaders are designed to improve performance, safety and sustainability across demanding worksites.
