Last week's answer
Question: At what time do the first official street detours begin in preparation for New Year’s Eve in Times Square?
Answer: 4 a.m.
Most of New York City's Times Square closes to vehicular traffic on Dec. 31, starting at 4 a.m. to begin preparing for the crowds of revelers. The New York Police Department will first close Seventh Avenue from 42nd to 48th streets, as well as 43rd through 48th streets from Sixth to Eighth avenues. More closures will take place throughout the day, with some prohibiting pedestrian access in addition to vehicular.
