Need for speed

April 28, 2009

John Deere aims to revolutionize the speed with which contractors can work with its 764 High-Speed Dozer. The rubber-tracked unit combines the speed of a grader with the flotation of a crawler dozer, allowing operators to perform grading and moderate dozing at about double the speed of a similarly sized crawler.
The 764 HSD has the ability to travel 18 mph across a jobsite without damaging pavement. Weighing 34,000 lb, it is powered by the Tier III John Deere PowerTech Plus 6.8-liter engine rated at 200 hp.
