BMG Seltec, a provider of site-automation controls, point-of-sale ticketing systems and operations software for producers of aggregates and asphalt, has acquired TrakitGPS. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, TrakitGPS is a leading provider of innovative web-based hosted signaling and payroll-management systems focused exclusively on the unique requirements of aggregate, concrete and ready-mix producers and their respective haulers. TrakitGPS will continue to operate out of Salt Lake City.
"The TrakitGPS acquisition is an excellent addition to BMG Seltec's solution set," said Seltec President Scott Johnson. "They are an important addition to our core development team and technical expertise. They also bring with them a rapidly growing list of enthusiastic customers-all of which made them an attractive acquisition candidate."
"We at TrakitGPS are excited about the new ownership," affirmed Ben Palmer, who will continue to manage the TrakitGPS business unit for BMG Seltec. "BMG Seltec understands very well our market and what we bring to it. We see many opportunities for tighter, more advanced, integration of our products with other production and business office software provided by Seltec. We also look forward to accelerating product and market development as a result of our combined resources."
The TrakitGPS solution typically sends and receives pertinent status and location information from Nextel cellular phones. Pre-integrated interfaces to BMG Seltec, as well as other dispatching systems (e.g. Command Alkon and Systech) are available. Users can access their fleet information from any location with an Internet connection, and pay a simple monthly fee per truck.
