David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) was selected by Multnomah County, Ore., and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to provide the residents and recreational users innovative solutions for a gateway bridge to Sauvie Island. The Sauvie Island Bridge is a stunning 365-foot long steel tied arch main span with post-tensioned box girder approach spans. Construction of the main span was highlighted by a barge-supported trek of the fully-assembled arch down the Willamette River to its final resting spot.
