Wirtgen's new W 2000 Combo Cutter is currently on display at ConExpo-Con/Agg. The W 2000 contains 565 hp and will cut from 0 to 12 in. deep. Drum widths can be changed from 24 to 36 to 48 in. The W 2000 has a maximum operating speed of 180 fpm, and its segmented cutter drum provides a right-hand flush cut over all widths.
Also introduced was the WS 2500 and W 35 DC Cold Mill. The WS 2500 is a tractor-towed, three-point hitch machine used for soil stabilization. It's equipped with a mechanically driven milling and mixing rotor, and the attachment comes in either 6 ft 7 in. or 8 ft cutter widths.
The W 35 DC Cold Mill has a cutting width of 14 in. and cutting depth of 4.3 in. It has an operating speed of 82 fpm and operating weight of 10,031 lb. The W 35 DC is ideal for cold planing small areas for partial rehabilitation of pavements, milling around manhole covers and placing and removing road markings.
