TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT: Pomona, Calif., upgrades traffic management system

The city of Pomona, Calif., and McCain Inc. recently completed an upgrade of the city’s traffic management system to McCain’s QuicNet Pro 2.0 central control software. With the upgrade, city traffic controllers will now be able to coordinate the majority of traffic signals from one central location, namely the city traffic management center.

 

The city of Pomona, Calif., and McCain Inc. recently completed an upgrade of the city’s traffic management system to McCain’s QuicNet Pro 2.0 central control software. With the upgrade, city traffic controllers will now be able to coordinate the majority of traffic signals from one central location, namely the city traffic management center.

In addition to the software upgrade, McCain also installed an Information Exchange Network (IEN) site server and a Command Data Interface (CDI). The IEN will be able to connect to the Los Angeles County system and monitor those traffic signals, allowing greater regional coordination on traffic and incident management.
