The Arizona Department of Transportation is inviting the public to weigh in on its proposed 2026-2030 Five-Year Transportation Facilities Construction Program, a $12.7 billion plan focused on resurfacing pavement, upgrading bridges and expanding major corridors.
The plan earmarks over $4.47 billion for infrastructure upgrades across Greater Arizona—areas outside Maricopa and Pima counties—including $2.8 billion for preserving pavement and bridges.
Projects include $455 million for interstate resurfacing and more than $680 million for other state and U.S. routes. Bridge investments total $349 million.
Another $1.05 billion is set aside for corridor expansions such as widening Interstate 10 south of Phoenix, U.S. Route 93 near Wickenburg, and Interstate 17 from Sunset Point to State Route 69.
A $66 million joint effort with the California Department of Transportation will replace the Colorado River Bridge on I-10.
Additional funding includes $2.38 billion for Maricopa County projects and $831 million for efforts in Pima County, including the I-10 widening near Tucson. The program also designates $135 million for airport upgrades, including improvements at Grand Canyon National Park Airport.
The State Transportation Board will host a public hearing at 9 a.m. on Friday, at Bullhead City Council Chambers and online. Comments may be submitted virtually until 8 a.m. that day through instructions at aztransportationboard.gov.
The comment period runs through May 23. Final approval is expected at the board’s June 20 meeting.
