Some roads in the northeast part of the state will be closed

Four counties in Indiana have road improvement projects that will begin on or after Aug. 5, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT)

Wells County will see closures on Indiana State Route 218 between Cherry Street and South 250 East. Crews will work on a bridge replacement expected to finish at the end of October.

INDOT also plans to close a section of Indiana State Route 116 for a bridge deck overlay. Construction is planned to be completed at the beginning of October.

Crews will also be working in Kosciusko and Whitley County on Indiana State Route 114, between South 700 East and 950 West. This bridge construction project is expected to be completed at the end of September.

A section of Indiana State Route 5 in Huntington County will be closed for a bridge deck overlay. The closure will be between West 300 South and West 350 South, north of Majenica. Work is expected to be completed by the end of October.

All the projects are weather-dependent with schedules subject to change. INDOT urges motorists to use caution and slow down in work zones.
