Looking Ahead to 2026

Here’s what Roads & Bridges has on top this year

In 2026, Roads & Bridges turns 120 years old, and we plan to celebrate this milestone by doing what we do best: covering the industry’s top conventions and delivering application-based features and news stories to our dedicated audience.

It is a ConExpo year, and in March, Roads & Bridges will be in Las Vegas for North America’s largest construction trade show. Held every three years in Las Vegas, ConExpo showcases the latest equipment and technology for the road and bridges construction industry, and our editorial team will be there to interview industry experts on an array of issues. Those video interviews will be posted on our website.

This will be our second trip to Las Vegas. At the end of January, we will be in Sin City for World of Concrete. Others shows that Roads & Bridges is slated to cover in 2026 include: ATSSA’s Convention & Traffic Expo (Feb. 20-24) in Houston, the International Bridge Conference (June 15-17) in National Harbor, Md., and the Public Works Expo (Aug. 30-Sept. 2) in Houston.

At the end of September, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will run out. We will cover the attempts at reauthorization, as well as any other policy decisions that impact the roads and bridges construction industry.

The Infrastructure Technology Podcast (ITP), which is our audio collaboration with Mass Transit magazine, starts the year off with its third season. Along with video interviews from trade shows, we also will continue to publish Infrastructure Insider, our video interview series that we record over Zoom.

We also have eight printed issues schedule for 2026. As usual, we start the year with our concrete issue, but that is followed with an issue that is dedicated to our inaugural under 40 edition, where we will highlight the work of experts under the age of 40.

February is when we will publish our annual asphalt issue, and that is followed by our safety issue in April. In April, we will also recognize National Work Zone Awareness Week (April 20-24), with digital exclusive features and interviews.

Our May/June issue celebrates bridges, our July/August issue features stories about mobility and complete street design, while the September/October focuses on technology. Finally, our November/December issue is when we name our Top 10 Road and Top 10 Bridge project of the year.

Happy 2026 to all of our readers and advertisers, and we hope to hear from you in the new year.
