The U.S. DOT Volpe Center has awarded a task-order contract to Parsons Brinckerhoff for on-call multidisciplinary architectural and engineering support and related services for the U.S. DOT and other federal agencies.

The services include infrastructure planning, inspection and assessment, engineering studies, software development, testing services, design and analysis, cost analysis, preparation of construction design packages, construction, repairs and maintenance of transportation infrastructure and other federal facilities nationwide.

The Volpe Center, a branch of the U.S. DOT research and special programs administration, operates on a fee-for-service basis unique to the government. PB has completed earlier task-order contracts under which services were provided for such government agencies as the Federal Aviation Administration, the Federal Railroad Administration, the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Defense.

Currently, PB is working on task orders for the Volpe Center involving development of a construction noise mitigation model for the Federal Highway Administration, continuing work on rail safety related to commuter rail vehicle window and glazing standards, and services related to transportation and infrastructure security design.
