Champion Fiberglass Expands Facility

Feb. 16, 2023
The company says the facility will be operational later this year

When working on bridge or tunnel projects, contractors often have to choose whether or not to buy fiberglass conduit and drainage products. Fiberglass costs less than PVC, and because contractors like to save money on big projects, the fiberglass conduit and bridge drain industry appears to be booming.

Champion Fiberglass claims it doubled its capacity in 2020 with a new manufacturing line. Last week, the company announced that it will add a fourth production line for fiberglass conduit and bridge drain products. In a press release, the company said its upgraded facility will be operational in eight to 10 months.

Fiberglass is more resistant than steel when it comes to salt, solvents, acids, oil, and other corrosive compounds that are commonly found in bridge drainage systems.
