Today, the White House released state-by-state fact sheets that highlight the needs in every state across the country for the investments proposed by President Biden in the American Jobs Plan.
The fact sheets highlight 12 key areas to be addressed in the infrastructure plan, including the number of bridges and miles of road in each state in poor condition, the commuting times for public transportation users, the percentage of households without access to broadband, the billions of dollars required for water infrastructure, among other infrastructure needs.
Individual fact sheets for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico are on the White House website.
These fact sheets are the latest in a series from the White House highlighting the benefits of the American Jobs Plan for communities. The White House says additional issue-based fact sheets will be released in the coming days and weeks. Fact sheets on how the American Jobs Plan advances racial equity and how it supports rural America have been released by the White House in recent weeks.
The American Jobs Plan, released at the end of March by the Biden Administration, includes $621 billion dedicated to transportation infrastructure, with plans to modernize 20,000 miles of highways and roadways, will fix the 10 most economically significant bridges in the country in need of reconstruction, and will repair the worst 10,000 smaller bridges in the nation.
