MINNICH MANUFACTURING EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION IN CANADA THROUGH MONTREAL TRACTOR
May 21, 2019—Minnich Manufacturing, the leading manufacturer of concrete dowel pin drills, concrete vibrators, and vibrator monitoring systems, has expanded distribution in eastern Canada through authorized distributor Montreal Tractor Inc. and sister company HMA Equipment. Montreal Tractor Inc. and HMA Equipment now offer sales, service, and exchange of Minnich equipment for the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Montreal Tractor opened HMA Equipment in Toronto in 2013 to better serve Ontario customers. Across eastern Canada, Montreal Tractor and HMA Equipment will support the complete Minnich lineup of on-grade, on-slab, machine-mounted, and utility concrete dowel pin drills, along with dust collection systems. In addition, they will sell, service, and exchange all Minnich concrete vibrators including high cycle, paving, flex shaft, and monitoring units.
BIORESTOR ASPHALT REJUVENATOR RANKS HIGHEST IN NCAT STUDY
May 28, 2019—Results published in the 2019 issue of Asphalt Technology News ranked BIORESTOR as the highest performing rejuvenating fog sealant against six other products in a recent test study. Conducted by the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) at their Auburn, Alabama, test track, seven rejuvenating seal products were evaluated for their material flow properties and friction test results over a four-week period following application. BIORESTOR ranked highest against the other six products based on three measurements: highest restoration of material flow properties of the binder, highest decrease in viscosity of the binder, and return of pre-treatment coefficient of friction values three hours following application.
PETTIBONE PARTNERS WITH MECALAC ON 8MCR RAIL-ROAD EXCAVATOR IN NORTH AMERICAN MARKET
May 22, 2019—Pettibone, long-time manufacturer of the renowned Speed Swing rail maintenance crane, has announced a partnership with Mecalac to provide sales and service support in North America for the Mecalac 8MCR Rail-Road, a compact crawler excavator that is purpose-built with factory-installed hi-rails for railway maintenance and service work. In addition to digging, the 8MCR Rail-Road excavator is also designed to provide outstanding lifting and handling functions for its size class with appropriate attachments. For instance, the machine can lift 6,600 lb at 8.2 ft from the center of the rails or 2,200 lb at 14.8 ft in a full 360-degree radius. The Mecalac machine can also be used as a skid steer, but with the unique capability of 360-degree rotation that allows material to be moved anywhere it is needed while the unit stays firmly on the track. Its versatility allows it to be equipped with several attachments typically only used with larger machines, such as a railway clamshell or ballast tamping head.

Mr. Smith’s main responsibilities include sales and support of national account customers across the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Smith has a decade of experience with compact equipment in the landscape industry. Most recently, he worked as the sports turf manager at Precision Turf LLC, where he has been since 2014. In his previous role, he managed over 60 acres of athletic fields in the metro Atlanta area. Additionally, Mr. Smith established and maintained relationships with clients, wrote proposals, and pitched services to current and prospective clients.
