The Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) have recently signed a cooperating agreement.
Both organizations share a goal of amplifying women’s success in the construction industry. This partnership will facilitate that goal by providing actionable measures of education and career development that advocate for the value and impact of women in the industry.
One opportunity provided by the partnership is NAWIC members’ ability to pursue CMAA credentials for the Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT), Certified Associate Construction Manager (CACM) and the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) at the CMAA-member rate.
“NAWIC is a natural partner for CMAA as we work collectively to advance and advocate for women in the industry,” said CMAA President and CEO Andrea S. Rutledge, CAE.
Rutledge and NAWIC Executive Director Crissy Ingram finalized the cooperating agreement. Together the leaders and their organizations will cross-promote events with the potential for co-production and attending one another’s events.
“I am so excited for NAWIC and CMAA to enter into this partnership. This is a big step in educating and promoting women in the industry,” Ingram said.
Later in 2023, CMAA will host a Principles of Construction Management Course for NAWIC members. The event will take place at the organizations’ 68th annual conference in Portland, Oregon.
