The Texas Transportation Commission voted unanimously to name James Bass as executive director. TxDOT’s current leader, Phil Wilson, accepted a job as head of the Lower Colorado River Authority. Commissioner Jeff Moseley will now be in charge of a committee that will find Wilson’s permanent replacement. Moseley said he did not have a timeline for finding the right candidate.

“We’ll open the post immediately, and we’ll use all the tools we have to let qualified candidates know about the opening,” said Moseley.

The job posting will expire on Jan. 30, at which point the committee will discuss who is fit for the job.
