Safway Services Inc. of Waukesha, Wis., and its Canadian subsidiary, Safway Scaffold Services Inc., have changed their company name to ThyssenKrupp Safway Inc., effective immediately.
The new name integrates Safway's parent company, ThyssenKrupp AG, with its company name. In 1995, ThyssenKrupp AG became the sole owner of Safway. ThyssenKrupp is a Fortune 500 global company employing over 190,000 people worldwide in more than 300 different companies.
"Due to the extensive resources that have been available to Safway under ThyssenKrupp's ownership in the past several years, we have been able to grow our branch network and add products and services throughout North America at an impressive rate," said Marc Wilson, ThyssenKrupp Safway Inc. president and CEO. "We look forward to a continued acceleration of our plans to add branches, products and services throughout North America."
The decision to integrate the company name came after ThyssenKrupp Safway executives committed to launching a company-wide branding campaign. "We are about to begin a process of aggressive brand building and it is critical for us to project a clear image of who we are, the services we provide and the markets we serve," Wilson said. "We have an industrial services division for the petrochemical and power market, and just added a bridge division. We believe it is important to maintain a consistent company brand image for our customers."
ThyssenKrupp Safway's sister companies, such as ThyssenKrupp Materials NA and ThyssenKrupp Elevator, serve the same markets, industrial and commercial construction, and are recognized by customers in each. "Integrating the brand recognition of the Safway name with ThyssenKrupp will enable us to project the image as the industry's reliable and innovative scaffold solutions provider," said Wilson.
Although the company name and branding have changed, customers and partners can be assured that ThyssenKrupp Safway will continue to deliver scaffold rental, labor services, training, engineering, inventory and project management, all with the highest safety standards.
