A Dallas financial services executive has been named to the board of directors of a national transportation research group.
Thomas L. Meredith, director of the Construction Equipment Finance Group for CitiCapital in Dallas, was recently elected a board member of The Road Information Program (TRIP), a Washington, D.C.-based national transportation nonprofit research group.
"I am pleased to welcome Mr. Meredith to the TRIP board of directors," said Brian Slagter, TRIP board chairman. "I am glad that we have a representative from the financial services sector who shares TRIP's vision for a road and bridge system that will save lives, boost economic development and enhance our quality of life."
CitiCapital is a member of Citigroup, the world's largest financial services company. Mr. Meredith joined CitiCapital in 2002 as regional manager for the Construction Equipment Finance Group Eastern Region. He was named head of the CitiCapital Construction Equipment Finance Group in 2003.
"I am pleased and excited to be elected to the TRIP Board of Directors," Mr. Meredith said. "TRIP plays a key role in addressing the needs of the road construction industry and I look forward to contributing to those efforts."
Prior to joining CitiCapital, Mr. Meredith spent 13 years at Deutsche Financial Services in St. Louis, where he was head of the Construction Equipment Wholesale Dealer Finance Group.
Mr. Meredith is also a member of the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED), an international trade association based in Oak Brook, Ill., representing 1,200 construction equipment distributors, manufacturers and industry-service firms.
Mr. Meredith and his wife Sheri live in Dallas with their two sons.
