Mack Trucks Inc. has announced the winners of its Driving Skills Safety Challenge held Jan. 23-25 in Las Vegas. This year's event featured both individual and team competitions, which included two operators per team.

Contestants chose one Mack Granite model mixer to operate through a closed course set up to simulate an actual jobsite. Operators had to complete a pre-operation safety check, successfully navigate the skills course and then secure the truck as if it were the end of a workday. Each individual or team had one attempt. Scoring was based on accuracy and adherence to safety procedures.

First-, second- and third-place winners in both the individual and team competitions are:

1st place

Individual: Rolin Redburn of Raw Concrete in West Plains, Mo.
Team: Rick and Theodore Kubesh of Kubesh Site Mixed Concrete in Colville, Wash.

Each received a trophy, $500 Mack Shop gift certificate and Mack Citizen Watch.

2nd place

Individual: Scott Bayless of John Deere Construction and Forestry Division in Wamego, Kan.
Team: Erik and Chris Colombo of Interstate Safety Service in Clarks Summit, Pa.

Each received a trophy and $300 Mack Shop gift certificate.

3rd place

Team: Serge Duron and Michael Hennekam of Rinker Materials in Cocoa, Fla.
