D.C. DOT launches interactive website

Oct. 18, 2006

The District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) recently rolled out several traffic enhancements and a transportation website, www.goDCgo.com, designed to help navigate travel-information sources for the District of Columbia.

"Until now, residents and commuters had to visit several different sources for transportation information," said DDOT Director Michelle L. Pourciau. "With goDCgo.com, we're putting this information in one convenient location." A goal of the site is "promoting alternative modes of transportation," she said.

"Until now, residents and commuters had to visit several different sources for transportation information," said DDOT Director Michelle L. Pourciau. "With goDCgo.com, we're putting this information in one convenient location." A goal of the site is "promoting alternative modes of transportation," she said.

The site includes information on parking, transit, bicycling, car sharing and more. It features an interactive map and links to other D.C. transportation-information sources.

DDOT worked with several business groups in the district in creating the site, which focuses on the greater downtown area, where most trips originate in D.C. Better travel information was among the recommendations of Mayor Anthony A. Williams' Downtown Congestion Task Force in December 2004.
