ARTBA issues call for award nomination
The American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) issued a call for nominations for its 7th annual “PRIDE Awards,” which honor “excellence in community relations and public education that enhance the image of the U.S. transportation construction industry.”
The awards competition categories include:
Community relations: Programs and activities that demonstrate positive civic involvement with the community in which a firm or agency is located.
Public-media relations/education:Programs and activities that educate the public and opinion leaders about the significant contributions the transportation construction industry (or a specific sector of it) makes to the economy and/or quality of life.
The 2006 “PRIDE Awards” program is open to all industry firms, agencies and associations. ARTBA membership is not required. This year’s awards competition is being sponsored by Better Roads and Roads& Bridges magazines.
A completed nomination and entry form must be received at The ARTBA Headquarters Building by March 17, 2006. Additional entry forms may be obtained by calling Rhonda Britton at 202/289-4434 or downloaded from the ARTBA website (www.artba.org). Award winners will be notified in writing by April 10, 2006. Awards will be presented during the 2006 ARTBA Federal Issues Program Conference, held in Washington, D.C., May 16-17.
