A truly international event

INTERMAT 2006 is France’s biggest trade exhibition in terms of size, and all the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and services for civil engineering, construction and the building materials industry have already signed up, as have many SMEs. More than 80% of the total exhibition area has already been booked.

A truly international event

INTERMAT 2006 promises to be more international than ever: more than 65% of the exhibitors who have already registered are international, from around 30 countries. So far, nine countries will be showcasing the expertise of their national operators in country pavilions organized by local trade associations: China (2 pavilions), Korea, Spain, Finland, Italy, Great Britain, the U.S., India and the Czech Republic.

This strong international representation reflects the crucial importance of the French market with its global influence and its special relationship with the markets of Southern Europe, French-speaking Africa and the Middle East.

All the major players in the construction and civil engineering sector will be at INTERMAT.

A wider offer and a clear sector layout

All INTERMAT’s traditional sectors--from earthmoving to new technologies, including materials processing, construction, roads and recycling--will be fully represented, with the lifting and handling area set to see dynamic growth at this session.

The organizers of INTERMAT 2006 have enhanced the exhibition’s offering by building on its sector-based approach, introducing new sectors and special events that will offer visitors concrete solutions for their specific business needs, taking an international perspective of the sector involved.

Lifting and handling

This sector will be more fully comprehensive than ever, reflecting users’ equipment upgrading needs and growth in the SME sector. Sales of telescopic handlers and aerial work platforms, for example, are soaring (up by 32% between 2003 and 2004).

Lifting and handling equipment and tower cranes will be displayed in the outdoor exhibition areas. Life-size demonstrations of new equipment for work at height, staged in partnership with the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), will take place in this area throughout the exhibition.
