Organizers of the 7th edition of INTERMAT, the international meeting place for the world’s construction industries, announced that 95% of 3.7 million net sq ft of exhibit space has already been reserved in this much anticipated trade event taking place in Europe, the world’s second largest construction market.
Rotating every three years with BAUMA in Germany and CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas, INTERMAT is one of the three leading exhibitions of equipment and services for the civil engineering, construction and building materials industries. Building on the exceptional success of the show’s last edition, 200,000 visitors (42% international) from 160 countries and 1,500 exhibitors (75% international) from 40 countries are expected to gather in Paris next April 24-29, 2006.
All the big names will be exhibiting at INTERMAT 2006, including Caterpillar, Hitachi-Sumitomo, JCB, Komatsu. Liebherr, Manitowoc, Terex, Volvo, etc. Nine national pavilions will be hosted by Spain, Finland, the United Kingdom, the U.S., Korea, Italy and China (three pavilions). Turkey and China will make their debuts at INTERMAT with exhibits covering substantial stand areas.
“INTERMAT 2006 is sharpening its tools, getting ready to provide all sectors of the industry with an exhaustive survey of equipment and materials related to civil engineering and building construction,” said Maryvonne Lanoe, INTERMAT exhibition manager. With the spotlight on health, safety and prevention, INTERMAT 2006 will hold conferences and special activities to emphasize eight main sectors: earthmoving, building, mining and quarrying, lifting and handling, roads, drilling and boring, materials and components and attachments.
The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) traditionally sponsors the North American Pavilion at INTERMAT, which will return to its prominent location in front of Hall 5a in the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre. “The AEM pavilion at INTERMAT has been an integral component of the association’s international market support services for more than a decade. The prominence of INTERMAT makes it an ideal venue to gain exposure with European and other international customers,” said Dennis Slater, president, Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
New at INTERMAT 2006, INTERMAT Components and Accessories, a show within a show, will feature over 300 companies dedicated to components, equipment, accessories and wear parts. The Technological Innovations Area, supported by CEMTIM (the French Industrial and Mechanical Technical Centre), technical institutes/laboratories and component companies, will provide information and present various real-life and simulated tests, inspections, design measurements, system integrations and electronics for components and attachments.
Another special highlight of INTERMAT 2006 is the 200,000 sq ft outdoor demo area that will host daily demonstrations of earth-moving, lifting, handling, drilling and other equipment in real-life conditions. INTERMAT is the only major international exhibition to offer a demo service to its exhibitors.
