    The Board of Directors of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has elected Charles Stamp Jr., vice president public affairs worldwide for Deere and Co., Moline, Ill., as AEM Chairman.

    Gerald Shaheen, group president of Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Ill., has been elected First Vice Chairman of the association.

    Stamp and Shaheen previously served at AEM First Vice Chair and Second Vice Chair, respectively.

    They will lead the AEM Board of Directors and the association in setting the operating policies and guidelines of the association in areas including product safety and technical support, equipment statistics, market trends data, public policy representation, international marketing services, trade shows, online strategic information services, education and training, and development of safety/educational materials.
