New leadership at pipe association

John Munro, president of Munro Concrete Products Ltd., Barrie, Ontario, Canada, has been named the new chairman of the board of the American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA). Munro assumed the chairmanship at ACPA's 95th annual convention in Bonita Springs, Fla. Three other officers also were named at the meeting:

* Doug Mohrman, Concrete Industries Inc., Lincoln, Neb. (vice chairman);

* Ron Metzger, Rinker Materials-Hydro Conduit Div., Houston, Tex. (treasurer); and

* Lynn Schuler, Iowa Concrete Products, West Des Moines, Iowa (secretary).

Munro succeeds Raymond Rhees, central region president of Oldcastle Precast Inc., Littleton, Colo., as the chairman of the 96-year-old pipe association. Munro will serve as ACPA chairman through the association's fiscal year ending March 31, 2004.
