AEM names Merit winners
The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has presented its "Statistics Outstanding Merit Award" to more than 50 equipment manufacturing companies in recognition of their 2002 participation in AEM's statistical reporting programs, enhancing the association's ability to provide meaningful market data to members.
AEM also presented the association's annual Dick Harris Data Integrity Award to Deere & Co. for the sixth consecutive year.
"Deere's top rating is a result of a rigorous discipline in collecting timely sales data and its commitment to an internal system that enables rapid transfer of the appropriate information to AEM's statistics processor," noted AEM Senior Vice President John Smylie.
AEM operates an extensive statistical reporting service that provides members with market trends and benchmarking data to assist with company business planning. The awards are presented annually to companies reporting data through AEM's "iSTAT", or Internet-based reporting system, and recognize companies who exemplify the ideals of reporting timeliness, accuracy, consistency and good corporate citizenship. Companies receive "points" in a number of categories and earn the award with a ranking of 90% or better.
