The Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association (ARRA) re-elected President Mike Polak for the 2003-2004 term during its annual meeting held in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
This is Polak's second term as president. He previously held the offices of vice president, secretary/treasurer and the annual meeting program chairman of the association, and has served on the ARRA Board of Directors since 1996. He also has been instrumental in planning and conducting ARRA seminars throughout the country.
A supporter of ARRA and the asphalt recycling and reclaiming industry for many years, Polak has a long history of involvement with industry groups and related educational counterparts. Within the ARRA organization itself, he was chairman of the Subcommittee on Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR) and continues to serve on this panel. He also participated as an ARRA representative in the three-year AASHTO study which investigated new specifications for CIR.
Polak is a 23-year employee and partner of E.J. Breneman Inc., West Lawn, Pa. The firm specializes in CIR and has been a member of ARRA since 1986.
