Seattle launches six new traffic web-cams

Seattle motorists are now able to view real-time traffic conditions in Lake City through the six traffic cameras recently installed in the area. Currently, a total of 39 Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) traffic cameras provide real-time traffic information along key routes in Seattle. The images are available on an interactive website, www.seattle.gov/trafficcams. The cameras help traffic engineers make adjustments to keep traffic moving and help drivers get around the city.

The newest SDOT traffic cameras are located at:

• Lake City Way and NE 145th;
• NE 145th and Lake City Way;
• Lake City Way and NE 125th;
• NE 125th and Lake City Way;
• 15th Ave NE and 80th; and
• Lake City Way and 15th NE.

The six new traffic cameras are a part of the Lake City Way NE Multi-modal Project. This project included pedestrian, street and transit improvements on Lake City Way NE from NE 80th Street to NE 145th Street designed to improve driving conditions, enhance safety and improve transit service in the area.

SDOT builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels' goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees that better connect the city with the region.
