Show management is calling the World of Asphalt 2003 Show and Conference, held March 18-20 at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn., a success.
The exposition featured 177 exhibitors using 48,800 net sq ft of exhibit space to showcase the industry's most advanced technology and innovations.
In excess of 3,500-asphalt industry professionals from 38 countries attended the education, exhibits and networking event.
"In spite of economic uncertainty there was a great deal of optimism surrounding this event, both in the support it received from exhibitors and attendees as well as in the mood of the people onsite," said R. Wayne Evans, World of Asphalt 2003 management committee chairman and senior vice president of asphalt operations for The Hubbard Group Inc., Orlando, Fla.
Educational sessions with specific asphalt-industry content were a key component of the World of Asphalt 2003 Show and Conference. Attendance exceeded projections at the two industry conferences held in conjunction with the show, with capacity crowds at many sessions.
The Asphalt Pavement Alliance Asphalt Pavement Conference: Superpave 2003 sold out its limited enrollment of more than 550. Over 2,400 tickets were purchased for the People, Plants and Paving Training Program.
The educational component of this event was very strong and our attendees recognized that," Evans said. "This was a valuable venue for industry professionals who were looking to sharpen their professional skills and improve their technical expertise in the field of asphalt paving and operations so they can increase their productivity and profitability when they return to their businesses."
