For the second year in a row, Flatiron won the Associated General Contractors of California Excellence in Safety Award. Flatiron’s safety program for heavy, civil and highway work was recognized as the best in California in the more than 1 million man-hours category. The safety award was accepted on May 13 by Flatiron’s Western Region President Curt Weltz and Safety Manager Vicky Hoyt at the AGC’s semiannual conference in Monterrey, Calif.

“I am honored to bring back this award not just for the Western Region, but on behalf everyone at Flatiron, from the executives who demand excellence in safety to the estimators, project managers, superintendents and every frontline worker that makes it happen,” said Hoyt.

This is the second Excellence in Safety Award Flatiron has won. In 2008, Flatiron won the AGC’s National Safety Award in the 700,000 to 1 million man-hours category.
