Nichols Consulting Engineers, Reno, Nev., which provides pavement research, engineering, training and management systems, has appointed Dr. Rich Flaherty to its board of directors.
In his new appointment, Flaherty will join six other board members in leading the company's directional development including new growth opportunities for NCE and oversight to the company's operation.
Flaherty has been the dean for the College of Business and a professor of accounting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, since 1999. Previously he was on the faculty at Arizona State University for 21 years. He served as director of the School of Accountancy for five years.
Flaherty received his bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Kansas.
