The ACI Foundation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), is pleased to announce its donation of $50,000 to the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program.

The donation, which will be paid in the amount of $5,000 for the next 10 years, will come from the ACI Foundation’s Innovative Concrete Education (ICE) program, which was created under the Foundation for the purpose of collecting and distributing funds for new or ongoing innovative concrete-related educational programs.

The CIM program is qualified to receive funds though the ACI Foundation’s ICE program because of its goal to produce broadly educated, articulate graduates grounded in basic construction management, who are knowledgeable of concrete technology and techniques and who are able to manage people and systems and to promote products or services related to the concrete industry.

The announcement of the donation was made during World of Concrete 2009 in Las Vegas. “The ACI Foundation congratulates the National Steering Committee of Concrete Industry Management on its outstanding work in developing and encouraging talented individuals to make a career within the concrete industry,” said Claude Bedard, chair of the ACI Foundation. “We are pleased to lend our name and support to these efforts.”

“The National Steering Committee of the Concrete Industry Management Program is extremely pleased to welcome the ACI Foundation as a sustaining member of the NSC,” said Eugene Martineau, chairman of the CIM NSC. “The ACI Foundation’s commitment to advancing the concrete industry through education is both compatible and consistent with the NSC’s mission. With its long term pledge to the NSC, the ACI Foundation joins a strong industry coalition that provides national support, direction, and oversight to the CIM program. Having the support of the ACI Foundation further strengthens the concrete industry's commitment to the long term viability of the vision of advancing the concrete industry by degrees.”
