Bridge deck finishers

Nov. 20, 2018

Allen bridge deck finishers (BDF) are designed and engineered to pave projects accurately and efficiently. These paving machines have the ability to advance the concrete mix, grade to the required elevation and finish the surface in one pass of the paving carriage.

To accommodate all sizes of bridge, road and airport pavement pours, Allen BDFs come in different sizes and configurations. The max width for the 4836B is 90 ft and the max width for the 6048B is 120 ft. Both machines can be customized to adapt to the needs of various project specifications.

Some of the other customizable features Include:

  • Hydraulic power crown adjusters allow on-the-go crown adjustments;
  • Pivot leg plate brackets allow the frame to remain parallel to the paving surface on cross slopes greater than 3.5%;
  • Swing-out jack leg plate brackets help with zero clearance and tight restricted pour areas;
  • Hydraulic power up/down legs to reduce setup time and labor;
  • Power widening for transitioning paving widths;
  • Six-wheel bogie system to distribute the per bogie weight;
  • Carriage fogging units available where DOT-specified;
  • All-wheel drive bogie systems for severe grades;
  • Standard single drag pan and burlap drag help smooth, close and texture the concrete surface (dual drag pan also available); and
  • Gasoline or diesel engine options available.

Along with customization options for every job type, these machines are also easy to setup and operate. All of these features combine to allow Allen BDFs to save contractors time and labor on all of their concrete paving projects.
