Safety is an issue that plagues the road construction industry, especially at night. That is why David Smith, equipment superintendent for the road construction company Eastern Industries, Western Division, Winfield, Pa., decided to purchase the Nite Lite from Protection Services Inc. It not only protects the traveling public, but it also keeps jobsites safe and productive.

Designed specifically for the road construction industry, the Nite Lite is the first portable work-zone light. It is lightweight and easily transportable, providing a non-glaring white light for all moving and static nighttime construction projects. It produces an intense white light that enables workers to view objects in greater detail and easily mounts to any piece of equipment.

Microprocessor-controlled electronics ignite the high-intensity discharge, gas-filled lamp to provide a highly visible non-glaring light. The Nite Lite draws only four amps at 120 volts AC from a 60Hz electrical source.

The Nite Lite’s polycarbonate dome is coated with a light-diffusing compound that allows the 400-watt Pulse StartMetal Halide lamp to provide the necessary illumination for a jobsite. Light output is rated at 42,000 Lumens, which is sufficient to light a 15,000-sq-ft area.

The light weighs 26 lb and has a diameter of 25 in.
