“We are a company that is focused on using only the best quality products,” said Paul Quinless, senior vice president of service for Carillion Canada and president of TWD Roads Management. “Sterling offers the right combination of quality, price and customer support that we need. We’ve been quite happy working with them.”

A growing company, TWD Roads Management has been purchasing Sterling L-Line trucks for the past two years and is currently in the process of negotiating a new order of trucks for 2006. Specs include tandem- and single-axle configurations and Caterpillar C7 and Mercedes-Benz MBE900 diesel engines.

“Part of what makes Sterling trucks so dependable is its innovative cab designs, which offer several operating advantages for working in and around road sites,” said Matthew Stevenson, manager of product marketing for Sterling Truck Corp. “Drivers benefit from the cabs’ large size, convenience features, comfort, operating efficiency, strength and durability.”

The Sterling L-Line model can be custom-built for standard-, heavy- or severe-duty construction applications including snowplow, low-boy trailer, pipe hauler, dump and mixer. It offers a tight turning radius, a wide range of engines and suspension offerings and four BBCs.

To round out its offerings for the construction industry, Sterling also features the medium-duty Acterra, the low cab-over-engine Condor and the unique Cargo models, which are all designed for the demands of building and maintaining North America’s roads and bridges.

Carillion Canada operates in four major business areas: road and highway maintenance, construction services, facilities management and public-private partnership projects. As a wholly owned subsidiary of United Kingdom-based Carillion plc, Carillion Canada was established in 1954 and now has offices in Toronto, Ont., and St. John’s, Newf.
