The Oklahoma Transportation Commission has approved the County Improvements for Roads and Bridges (CIRB) Plan for fiscal years 2026 through 2030, allocating nearly $930 million for upgrades to local infrastructure across all 77 counties.

The five-year plan targets roads and bridges outside of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) jurisdiction and will address aging infrastructure throughout the state.

Notably, the plan includes reconstruction of 422 miles of county roads and rehabilitation or replacement of 230 bridges—82 of which are currently deemed structurally deficient or functionally obsolete.

A key addition is a $12.5 million project in Love County, funded in part by Congressionally Directed Spending. It will reconstruct five miles of Oswalt Road and replace a bridge in Ardmore.

“ODOT appreciates the Transportation Commission’s continued support and the Legislature’s commitment to strengthening the county road network,” said Tim Gatz, ODOT Executive Director, in a statement. “We’re proud to partner with county commissioners to deliver these infrastructure projects.”

The CIRB Plan, established by the state Legislature, is a collaborative program involving ODOT, county governments, and Oklahoma’s eight Circuit Engineering Districts. Funding is sourced from a mix of state, federal, local and tribal contributions, allowing counties to pool resources for larger-scale efforts.

Highlighted projects include nearly $5 million for a bridge replacement in Cherokee County, $4.8 million for improvements to Moccasin Trail Road in Pottawatomie County, and $7.2 million for road and bridge work over Coal Creek in Ottawa County.
