I-95 Bridge Repairs to Close Northbound Lanes

A bridge repair to the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia is scheduled to begin Monday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). They are hopeful the work will be finished by the end of the week.

According to PennDOT, the northbound lanes from the Broad Street Interchange to south of the Interstate 676 Interchange are scheduled to be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. from July 31 to Friday, August 4.

The work is part of $44.6 million bridge improvement project that's happening on highways in Philadelphia, Delaware, and Bucks County.

The project includes replacing rocker bearings, frozen sliding plate bearings and deck expansion joints, and more.

The Philadelphia-based contractor Driscoll Construction Company, Inc. will be performing the work, according to PennDOT.

The repair is weather dependent.

Drivers are advised to prepare for their drive as backups and delays are expected to occur.
