CONEXPO-CON/AGG: Genie moving toward bridge inspection sector with 135-ft telescopic boom

March 10, 2017

The record-setting outreach and high capacity on the boom are among some of the features that will enable Genie to become a presence in bridge inspection

Genie, a Terex brand known for its aerial lifts, showcased its SX-135 XC self-propelled telescopic boom on Wednesday at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017 as it announced plans to bring its equipment into the bridge inspection market.

At a platform height of 135 ft, the machine features a maximum outreach of 90 ft, higher than any other lift in the industry. In addition to the record-setting outreach, the telescopic boom has a 660 lb/1,000 lb dual-platform capacity and an extended reach-out-and-down capability of nearly 20 ft below grade.

At a width of 8 ft, 2 in., the SX-135 XC features a Mini XChassis design for compact transportation and work in confined areas. The Telescoping Jib-Extend goes from 18-30 ft and has a 125° vertical range of motion.

As the company intends to move their lifts into bridge inspection, the SX-135 XC has the right features to help them achieve that goal.
