State Road 16 Bridge Work to Begin in Florida

June 9, 2023
The bridge is located approximately one-third of a mile east of Seamark Ranch Road over the South Fork of Black Creek

State Road 16 in Florida is a heavily traveled road, especially during the summer months, and next week, construction is set to begin to repair a bridge on the route.

The Clay County bridge is located approximately one-third of a mile east of Seamark Ranch Road over the South Fork of Black Creek. SR16 runs northwest to southeast between Railford and St. Augustine. It stretches across four counties, connects to six major highways, including Interstate 95, and provides access to Camp Blanding.

The $1.76 million bridge rehabilitation project will be carried out by Superior Construction Company and include installation of crutch bents, scour countermeasures and other incidental construction.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announced there will be no closures on State Road 16 between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and one lane will remain open at all times.

The project is expected to finish this year.
