According to Springfield Bottom Line, crews will begin setting up the work zone in November ahead of full-scale construction. The bridge will fully close for three weeks in December to complete the most critical work.

During the setup phase, flaggers will manage traffic as construction crews position cones and barrels. Once the bridge closes, traffic will be detoured to the South A Street Bridge.

During the preparation phase, flaggers will direct traffic so crews can set up cones and barrels, Springfield Bottom Line reported.

In addition to the deck repaving and joint replacements, crews will add a new bike ramp on the east side of the bridge, improving access and safety for non-motorized travelers.
