    BPR45/55 reversible plate compactor

    Bomag Light Equipment, Kewanee, Ill., has introduced its new BPR45/55 reversible plate compactor series, ideal for work on granular, cohesive and mixed soils.The BPR45/55 series includes two models: the BPR45/55 and the BPR45/55D. The BPR45/55 features an 8.9-hp Honda air-cooled gasoline engine, whereas the BPR45/55D offers an 8.9-hp Lombardini air-cooled diesel engine. Both models deliver nearly 50% more hp than the unit they replace.

This large increase in power, combined with new base plate geometry and optimized positioning of the center of gravity, results in an 8% faster working speed of 89 ft per minute; a 5% increase in maximum centrifugal force to 10,125 lb; and a 5% increase in gradeability to 35%.
