No. 8 - Jeremiah Morrow Bridge

Jan. 3, 2015

The Little Miami River is designated a National Scenic Waterway, which necessitated that the Jeremiah River Bridge project bear an environmentally sensitive construction method. Using movable overhead form travelers, the box girder was cast without the use of scaffolding or falsework, providing minimal impact to the surrounding environment, an economical construction method and an accelerated schedule. On-site geologic variability forced multiple substructure solutions, including a pier that is isolated from the bridge superstructure; Teflon-coated bearings will “bridge” the gap between pier and structure.
