No. 8 - Tilikum Crossing

Public transportation in Portland will soon have a bridge

to call its own. When complete, the Tilikum Crossing

will be the longest car-free transit bridge in the U.S. and

the fi rst multimodal project of its kind. Light-rail trains,

buses and streetcars will travel down the middle of the

bridge, which will have bike and pedestrian paths on

each side. The bridge also will provide access to a new

housing tract and a univeristy campus branch along the

Portland riverfront.
