The $107 million reconstruction of the U.S. 12/14 Beltline and Verona Road in Madison, Wis., was named Roads & Bridges' #1 Road project of 2017. The project included complete reconstruction of the interchange at U.S. Hwy 12/14/18/151 from a standard diamond interchange to a single-point urban interchange (SPUI). The other significant alteration to the corridor was the installation of a roundabout at the intersection of Verona Road and Summit Road. Stage 2 of the overall Verona Road Improvement project is presently underway, with work scheduled through 2020.
